Oh, no worries -- I never do mods without doing my research first. I just -- this is the part where I get the terrible terrible jones, which comes before trying to figure out what I can do about it.

And I really think tattooing would be at least as dangerous, if not moreso; the penetration from the needle is going to go deeper than the cautery pen on the surface. (Which, you'll note, I'd want to use as an argument *for* branding, instead of *against* tattooing. Poor impulse control, that's me.)
