I'm not sure I would call it that, but he's got so much apathy going on sometimes. He doesn't seem to really have any reason to go with Greed, or go with Archer later--he probably doesn't really want to be around a homunculus and a bunch of chimeras, or around the military. Hence, he's bizarrely compliant. . . . And then you blink, and he's off on a 'splodey power trip, or eyeing Greed's skull maliciously. His motivations (if he even has them--I almost think that he usually doesn't) are just really weird, and I haven't really figured them out.
