I blushed a bit that you'd read it out loud to people XD I should add that the story I was talking about actually does a very good job with its premise, and it's not nearly as silly as I make it out to be. Also, I totally want to read the story you're talking about. I don't think I've ever seen it.
That distinction totally makes sense. Skyfire really never could have made it with the Decepticons, not coming in when he did. Maybe if he'd been there from the beginning.
