Hmm. I think my usual head-canon for Starscream precludes that - he chose the Decepticons, and I find it hard to believe that was just grief. Many grieving people joined the Autobots, but Starscream joined the Decepticons, and in every canon I know of it's an active choice rather than just passively falling into place. He takes what he wants, you know? But in the storyline for this fic - yes, definitely, he's regal enough to head another faction. Who would he lead, though? He might be able to pull some Decepticons, mostly fliers, but no Autobots. And what can you do with no ground support? Breaking off another faction would just ensure the destruction of both, I think. It is a fascinating possibility, though. D: And if he'd been drawing this faction to himself from the beginning... Yeah, he might have a shot! There are some Autobots I can see following him if he ran the right propaganda.
