I don't really buy the broken-Starscream theory either, I've just been reading a bunch and it tickled something in my brain. I get a little tired of seeing him automatically go off to be with his TWU WUB Skyfire and join the Autobots, so I said, "hey, he chose the Decepticons for a reason. And he's got plenty of ambition. And also I love the idea of Skyfire as his consort. GO GO WEIRD STORY~"
Skyfiiiiire ;_; I love him so muuuuch. You wanna know what line broke MY heart? "Prime said it was urgent," Skyfire said hesitantly, hovering not-quite-literally about the Ark's entrance. "Do you need to go somewhere...?" AUGH SKYFIRE YOU POOR TAXI, I LOVE YOU FOR WHO YOU ARE. ;A; But oh gosh, the scenes with him and Starscream just came so naturally. It was glorious to write.
Ironhide and Thundercracker are just doing what's in the best interests of their respective groups! They are cautious, which is healthy. It's just that Starscream and Skyfire don't know what caution is. XD
